Session 3: Predictability Builds Trust - Tuesday, 7/21/26, 7 PM CDT
In Session 1, we advised you to start by building a 90-day calendar. In Session 2, Let the Calendar Build Itself, showed how starting with events that are unchangeable, the calendar practically builds itself.
During Session 3, we talked about identifying the rhythms that are in all Scouting units. Once families begin to recognize those rhythms, they begin to understand what they can expect, what comes next, and how they can participate. When people understand what to expect, trust has a place to grow. Predictability is not sameness, and it is not removing variety. Predictability is the ability to recognize a rhythm, and that is a significant difference.
Families don’t join units for events, they join for experiences.
- Key Insight: Calendars provide structure, rhythms create trust.
- Focus: Every unit has eight core rhythms.
- Outcome: Rhythms let families know what to expect.
- Action Step: Using the Rhythm Map, identify one of the eight rhythms that could be stronger.
