Session 6: New Families Decide Fast - Tuesday, 9/8/26, 7 PM CDT
We continue with the third of three sessions in the "Build the Experience" section of the Building Strong Units Through Program Calendars webinar series, Session 6: New Families Decide Fast.
New families decide quickly whether they belong in a unit. Even before a meeting begins, they're forming an opinion about whether this is the right place for their child. Leaders can take simple steps to make sure that new families feel welcome and that they belong.
The downloadable New Family Journey Map helps leaders evaluate the experiences a new family has during their first few months in the unit. The goal is not to improve everything at once. The goal is to identify one experience that could help a new family feel more welcomed, connected, and included.
- Key Insight: First 90 days determine retention.
- Focus: Welcome moments, buddy system, onboarding clarity.
- Outcome: Intentional retention process built.
- Action Step: Add onboarding element to every month.
